Weight Management Hypnotherapy

Change your relationship with food

Managing your weight is rarely as simple as knowing what you should eat. I use cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy to help you understand the thoughts, habits and emotional triggers influencing your eating, and to build a more sustainable relationship with food.

More than willpower

Eating behaviour is linked to emotions and routines

You may understand nutrition perfectly well and still find yourself eating when stressed, bored or tired, struggling with cravings, or returning to old habits. You may recognise some of these:

Rather than relying on willpower or restrictive diets, we focus on understanding and changing the patterns that are getting in your way.

The approach

How cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy can help

Sessions focus on the thoughts, habits and emotional triggers influencing your eating, and on the confidence to keep those changes going.

1
Step one

Understanding your patterns

Identifying your eating triggers, changing unhelpful habits and routines, and challenging all-or-nothing thinking about food.

2
Step two

Changing how you respond

Managing emotional eating, responding differently to cravings, and developing more mindful eating patterns.

3
Step three

Making the change last

Increasing motivation for healthy behaviours, building confidence in maintaining change, and using self-hypnosis to reinforce new habits.

In practice

A sustainable approach to weight management

No forbidden foods, no promises of rapid weight loss, and nothing that has to replace care you already have.

No rigid diets

There are no forbidden foods and no promises of rapid weight loss.

Realistic for everyday life

The aim is to help you develop behaviours that are realistic enough to continue in everyday life.

Alongside your existing care

This can be used alongside a weight-management plan or medical treatment already in place, focusing on the behavioural and psychological side of making and maintaining change.

What cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy involves

Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy combines hypnosis with psychological approaches to behaviour change. Hypnosis is used as a focused state of attention to support the cognitive and behavioural work, and you remain aware and in control throughout.

A structured programme that gives us the time to understand your eating patterns, work on your individual triggers and build sustainable new habits.

Sessions take place in person in Orpington, Kent, and online. The free initial consultation is by phone.

Hypnotherapy for weight management focuses on behaviour change and is not a substitute for medical or nutritional advice. Where appropriate, I may recommend discussing your weight or eating concerns with your GP or another healthcare professional.

Take the first step

If you are tired of repeatedly trying to change your eating habits only to find yourself returning to the same patterns, a different approach may help.
