Stop vaping with cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy
Many people begin vaping as an alternative to smoking and later find it has become a persistent habit in its own right. My four-session programme helps you understand and change the patterns that keep vaping in place.
- Four 60-minute sessions
- Free 15-minute consultation
- In person or online
Why I do not offer a one-session promise
Stopping vaping is a process, not a one-session promise.
I do not offer “one-session” stop-vaping hypnotherapy because vaping is rarely just a single habit. Nicotine dependence can be reinforced by frequent use, routines, emotions and learned associations—particularly because a vape may remain within easy reach throughout the day.
Although hypnosis can support motivation and behaviour change, it is not a guaranteed instant cure. I therefore offer a planned course combining cognitive and behavioural techniques with hypnosis to help clients understand their triggers, manage cravings and build changes they can sustain.
Your four-session programme
Four 60-minute sessions, in person in Orpington or online.
Understand your vaping
We map how often you vape, your nicotine strength, the situations and emotions that trigger it, and what you believe vaping does for you. We then agree a personalised plan.
Stop vaping
This session supports the move to becoming vape-free, using cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy to manage urges, cope with withdrawal and rehearse difficult situations.
Break the pattern
Vaping can become almost continuous rather than a series of episodes. We break cue-response patterns, reduce hand-to-mouth habits and change work, driving and evening routines.
Stay vape-free
The final session consolidates progress: stopping a lapse becoming a return to vaping, coping with stress without nicotine, and using self-hypnosis for the longer term.
A four-session programme allows us to
- understand how vaping fits into your day
- assess nicotine use and dependence
- identify emotional and situational triggers
- prepare for stopping
- change automatic routines
- manage cravings and withdrawal
- review progress
- address difficulties before they become setbacks
- build confidence in remaining vape-free
“Nicotine-containing vapes can produce dependence, particularly when used regularly.”
Smoking and vaping share many of the same patterns
They are not identical, but many of the same patterns are involved. You may recognise some of these.

- Nicotine dependence
- Automatic hand-to-mouth behaviour
- Cue-driven cravings
- Repeated use in particular places or situations
The thinking behind it
- Using nicotine to manage stress, boredom or discomfort
- Beliefs that vaping helps you relax or concentrate
- Anxiety about coping without it
