A practical approach to feeling more in control
What keeps anxiety going, and how cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy addresses it.
How anxiety takes hold
Anxiety can affect how you think, feel and behave. You may find yourself constantly worrying, avoiding situations or feeling overwhelmed by physical symptoms such as tension, a racing heart or panic.
Anxiety often becomes a cycle. A situation, thought or physical sensation triggers a prediction of danger, which then increases anxiety and encourages avoidance.
How the therapy works
I use cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, which combines hypnosis with cognitive behavioural techniques. This approach focuses on understanding the thoughts, beliefs and learned responses that maintain anxiety, then helping you develop more effective ways of responding.
Hypnosis is used as a focused state of attention to strengthen the cognitive and behavioural work, and you remain aware and in control throughout.
You do not need to have a formal diagnosis before getting in touch.
